Here at The Reef Farm, we support aquacultured corals. This means you! A seasoned reef tank can produce many frags - (sometimes whether you mean to or not!) helping to keep the hobby sustainable. The more aquaculture sold in the hobby, the better - so bring your frags, used equipment (we all need to save a buck sometimes) or anything else hobby-related to sell at TRF this Sunday, the 22nd! If you are just getting started and don't have anything to sell or trade - then just come on out for the great deals and fun time!

Many hobbyists have been woeful in the past that all our events are usually on Saturday - here is your chance at a Sunday event! The greenhouse is just full of frags, and will other sellers and traders bringing their corals as well there will be a HUGE selection! TRF corals look beautiful in the sunlight - "just like a natural reef", but sometimes it is nice to see the colors pop under LED lights the way it would in your tank before you buy! Come celebrate the first ever "Moonlight Madness" event at TRF with us on Dec. 30th, anytime between 5pm and 10pm. (First ever Friday opened!) We will be announcing some awesome sales and posting pics as we get closer to the date, so stay tuned!

Saw a lot of people posting they couldn't get near our booth at RS due to traffic, and we thought we ought to do something special to make up for it at the farm. I talked to the boss, and he agreed we should host a big holiday party/swap! Since there was already a great holiday party idea in place via Redfish we thought "Great, let's run with it!" The rules are posted in the link above, no reason to mess with a good idea, and Redfish sure had one.

The  Reef Farm will be closed this coming Saturday as we attend the Fourth Annual ReefSMART Expo hosted at the Wake County Commons.  We will open back up at the normal time on Sunday the 13th. 


We invite you to join us as we put on the largest aquatics show in the area.  ReefSMART was started to give aquarists, vendors, and manufacturers a chance to all get together and mingle to talk about and offer their goods.

Come one, come all, to the TRF "Free To Sell" Swap! If you have corals to sell or trade, be sure to bring them with you .  We have personally invited some of the top hobby aquaculturists in NC to bring their wares, so there is sure to be plenty to choose from! Between what the sellers and traders are bringing and the selection the farm has for sale (and on sale!) there is sure to be amazing deals on even more amazing corals! Don't forget, we love trades at the farm, too - so whatever you don't sell is sure to find a home in trades from the farm so you can acclimate your new animals! 
In addition to all of the Best Aquacultured Coral from The Reef Farm we will also have coral available from the some of the best hobbyists as well.  Don’t miss all of the great stuff.  Come early and stay late people will be in and out all day, and the Reef Farmer  himself will be there autographing pictures.  (I always wanted to say that :D)

Sustainable Reef Fragging Demo

We have all been enjoying watching Joe Oliver from MarineQuest frag TRF corals - this time we have a new demonstrator for you, and she will show you her techniques - how she does that voodoo she does so well.  Michelle Anderson (Zoagirl on local forums) is a well-respected hobbyist and seller that we are lucky enough to see at all the major events (within a day's drive!) selling her awesome aquacultured corals, some of which goes back many generations under her expert care. We are very excited to have her at this month's SR Fragging Demo!


Food!  Yes, this time we will have it! Dogs, chips, and drinks for all!

Frags!  As per usual, we will have a free frag for everyone who attends!

Fragging Demo - This is the highlight of this awesome day, we have somehow convinced our lovable JoeCreature to come and do a frag demo! His table at ReefSMART was so crowded, and some people were dissapointed they could not crowd close enough for even a peek! Here is your second chance!
