The choice for the first Coral Spotlight was an easy one. The Nuclear Meltdown Favia is both an exquisite and one of a kind specimen. In addition it is also the poster coral for May in the Reef Farm Coral Calendar.
This favia is a quite unique take on the standard brown and green favia. The Nuclear yellow center mixed with a surprisingly baby blue shroud is stunning to see. This particular specimen is a voracious eater (as you can see from the feeders extended at the bottom), and as with almost all faviids it is very hearty and can survive and thrive in a variety of conditions from high to low light and from moderate to high flow.
